We all love, admire and relate to these four glamorous New York City girls. So, I’m sitting and writing these lines now, pretending to be Carrie Bradshaw, and I’m thinking about how much of a brand this HBO show has become. We copy their styles, borrow their lines and some of us are even drinking flirtinis and going out in groups of four. We are them. And I’m saying that in the most positive way because if there is something these girls have taught us it’s that we can be anything we want. Lusty Samantha, romantic Charlotte, down to earth Miranda or zany Carrie. In fact, we already have a little bit of all of them inside, we just needed something to get it out on the top.
I’ve read yesterday that the upcoming sequel, Sex and The City 2, boosted lingerie sales, too. Gals in their 40’s and 50′s started shopping for hot lingerie like crazy, and it’s all because these 4 ladies refused to get down from the big screen despite the fact that they are “too old”, as some critics have put it. These four brave actresses showed the world that there is nothing wrong in being 40 and up and wearing sexy lingerie. And I’m really glad that to hear that so many women followed their example because if there is something I’m trying to do here, it’s that- writing for women and about them. Writing about thongs, swimsuits, sexy lingerie and all those things that make us feel more sexy and more confident.
We have been involved in Carrie, Sam, Miranda and Charlotte’s lives, and although some might say it’s just a TV show, nobody can’t deny that so many years of watching the girls gave us the chance to see them grow. The truth is that although girls have gotten older, the City hasn’t stopped being Sexy. Fabulous fashion, great adventures, lingerie scenes or hot, nude ones- We’ve seen them all. They showed us what being a girl is all about and gave us the courage to look at ourselves in the mirror and say, “You are just fabulous, darling.”
